Capital Inflows and Working Children in Developing Countries: An Empirical Approach

چکیده

International capital flows and the operation of multinational enterprises (MNEs) are influenced by several socioeconomic political factors. Among them, low labor cost is listed among determinants that attract foreign capital, primarily direct investment (FDI) inflows, which in various cases attributed to unskilled employees, including working children. Working children, mainly developing countries, remain an important social issue has attracted increasing research interest, as well coordinated efforts international organizations. The present aims empirically investigate interaction between FDI inflows child countries using panel data analysis. paper includes extensive literature review related empirical on association countries. novelty study its effort causality two geographic regions high rates namely sub-Saharan Africa Latin America. A sample 42 from a period ranging 1980 2019 was used Granger tests were applied. concludes there unidirectional causal relationship these no observed macroeconomic independent variables. Several policies proposals will reduce or prevent subsidiaries companies included.
